The two charts below show population variation with eSet and the John Deere meter. Even with the vacuum adjusted for each seed type, the John Deere meter shows wide variation over different seeds and speeds. Notice how the eSet population stays constant over a wide variety of speeds and seed sizes/shapes -- all with the same vacuum setting. Compare these results with the Cell Disk. A two year study of side by side trials across the country reinforce the payoff of eSet compared to the Deere ProMAX system. Eleven growers compared eSet to the Deere ProMAX in side by side yield trials. The results showed a 3 bushel per acre advantage for eSet. At a $3.50 corn market that's $10.50 per acre.

A test conducted by the Andersons, Waterloo, Indiana compared eSet to JD Vacuum system. Singulation, spacing and ear count were all monitored for two locations with two types of seed. Here is what they found.
