Population Control, Seed Spacing & Placement Products

  • eSet

    eSet

    Every Seed. Every Time.

    • Singulate any seed size or shape
    • No adjustments
    • Better seed agitation

    Consistency over all seed types.

The two charts below show population variation with eSet and the John Deere meter. Even with the vacuum adjusted for each seed type, the John Deere meter shows wide variation over different seeds and speeds. Notice how the eSet population stays constant over a wide variety of speeds and seed sizes/shapes -- all with the same vacuum setting. Compare these results with the Cell Disk. Cell Disk population varies dramatically at different speeds and with different seed sizes and shapes.

The right release for the right spacing.

    eSet vs ProMAX

A two year study of side by side trials across the country reinforce the payoff of eSet compared to the Deere ProMAX system. Eleven growers compared eSet to the Deere ProMAX in side by side yield trials. The results showed a 3 bushel per acre advantage for eSet. At a $3.50 corn market that's $10.50 per acre.

    Where the difference is made

A test conducted by the Andersons, Waterloo, Indiana compared eSet to JD Vacuum system. Singulation, spacing and ear count were all monitored for two locations with two types of seed. Here is what they found.

Downforce Control

  • AirForce

    AirForce® means automatic control.

    AirForce bag AirForce tank

Excessive down force applied to the row unit during planting can cause root zone compaction. That compaction cuts yields by:

    • Reducing germination rates and lowering plant count
    • Increasing plant stress reducing ear girth and length
    • Stressing plants at pollination during dry years with hot summers

Too little down force means shallow plants.

The 20/20 SeedSense® system teams with 20/20 AirForce to automatically measure and manage down force to make sure you run as light as possible, while maintaining the ground contact that assures uniform seeding depth.

Monitoring & Sensing Products

  • 20/20 SeedSense

Quit planting with a blindfold on.

The planter monitor in your cab today delivers sanitized population data. It tells you if you are within your target planting population with about a ten percent margin of error. So if you have 5% skips and 5% doubles, your monitor is happy because you are planting at 100% population. That’s not good enough.

    SeedSense

The 20/20 SeedSense® Monitor System gives you better information and more information. Information that lets you actively manage your planter – and make changes that make you money.

Four reasons why you need this monitor:

    1. Find hidden mechanical problems and correct them at planting
    2. Perfect planter performance by adjusting meters, vacuum pressure, transmissions and speed
    3. Improve productivity by maximizing planter speed without compromising performance
    4. Measure and adjust down force to eliminate costly root compaction and slotting

Five things your current monitor can't tell you:

    1. Is your down force set correctly?
    2. Are your meters running at peak accuracy?
    3. Can you go faster and not hurt planting accuracy?
    4. Is there a seed tape or debris in your meter that is causing one row to skip?
    5. Do you have enough row unit weight to achieve your desired depth?
